✦  CHAPTER ONE  ✦

What Is All This?

A sten do: one part stag, one part hen, all parts adventure.

Before Atlas and Tom slip away to be quietly, wonderfully wed, they are gathering everyone they love in one woodland for one long weekend. This is not a night of matching t-shirts and regrettable cocktails. It is a quest — a camping, questing, feasting, fire-lit celebration that stands in for the big wedding party.

Expect tents in the open fields, dice on wooden tables, arrows loosed at innocent targets, a market of handmade wares, a birthday for Tom, and every evening ending the same way: around the fire, together.

✦  THE SETTING  ✦

Bowley Scout Campsite — 47 acres of rolling meadow and woodland on the edge of the Ribble Valley, with views of Pendle Hill, a proper campfire circle, and room for our whole strange fellowship.

✦ The Party
Around forty friends and family, all genders, all ages — this is a joint do, and everyone is welcome at the same fire.
❧ The Quests
D&D campaigns, archery, a fantasy photoshoot, the makers' market, a trinket exchange — choose your own adventures.
⌂ The Camp
Tents in the Burrows, feasts and hot showers in the Den, campfires in between. Full details on The Camp page.
✦ The Makers' Market
Make something before you come — carved, stitched, brewed, baked, drawn — and bring enough to share with everyone taking part. On market day the camp becomes a bazaar of handmade wares.

On costumes

Garb is joyfully encouraged and entirely optional — sensible shoes are the only true requirement. For inspiration, ideas and pictures, consult the Dress Code page.

On D&D

You do not need to be experienced at D&D to join in — or to play at all. The aim is fun, chaos and storytelling, not perfect rules knowledge. Never rolled a die? You will be in excellent company.
